When we use Android Auto, most of the time we enjoy everything we have on our mobile phone but on the screen of our car, which will mean more safety and even lower costs since we no longer have to spend money on GPS system updates. to give you an example.

The problem is that in all the time that Android Auto has been with us, it has had more than one problem, with many users continuously complaining about phone communication failures with the car.

Google has been fixing many of these bugs with various updates, but now that we’re on the cusp of a facelift release that the company has called Coolwalk, we shouldn’t continue to drag these issues around.

Many times a communication error appears on the screen along with a numeric code, which does not help at all to solve the problem, since we cannot know what type of error it is (in some cases yes).

After seeing the same codes from time to time, all of us who use Android Auto have collected what each one is related to, from different experiences, different websites and different tests.

Today we are going to summarize them for you so that you know what to do if it appears on the screen, what are the main error codes and what are their solutions.

Error 17

This is one of the errors that made many users wonder as there seemed to be no possible solution to fix it.

The moment you connected the Android Auto login cable, it automatically showed that error and that your code is number 17, with no further information about what’s going on. Currently. yes, it’s true that when said error comes out, it already puts the cause.

Many thought that this was a problem that comes directly from the machine, since no one found anything strange in the smartphone.

Well no, everything comes from our mobile phone and the truth is that solving this error is much easier than it might seem at first glance.

all because of the terminal’s microphonewhich for some reason failed to get the appropriate permission in Android Auto to work.

To solve this problem, we just need to do the following:

We go into the system settings.

  • we entered Applications and we are looking for Android Auto.
  • Once we find it we must click on it and on the next screen we must see where it says permissions. Click.
  • It should then appear under Not allowed, Microphone.
  • Click on it and in the next window select Allow only if app is in use.
  • So, if you go back a step, you will see that the microphone already appears in the options Allowed.
  • From now on, you should no longer receive error 17.

Error 16

Error 16 Android Auto

In this case, the definition that Google gives is not very helpful.

This is a fairly common error and what happens is that there is an incompatibility between Android Auto and the function double applicationswhich is mainly present in Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO phonesalthough this error can occur in others as well.

If you have a Xiaomi phone and Android Auto gives you this error, you should know that it will be very easy to solveyou will not have any difficulties, but something that you have configured yourself will have to be abandoned.

When you enable the option that all terminals of the Xiaomi group have, such as dual applications, you have achieved that two identical applications can run at the same time. In fact, the problem is not in this, but in the fact that this function performs copy of google services and this is where Android Auto fails.

The only solution is to deactivate all duplicate apps of the smartphone and for that you will need to go to Settingsthen to Applications and finally double applicationsso you deactivate the box of all cloned.

But not only that, but you’ll have to click on delete accounts completely remove everything duplicated, that is, included Google services.

error 8

Error 8 Android Auto

Error 8, which can occur when installing Android Auto, refers to the fact that a smartphone or car has come into conflict due to time zone error or daylight saving time settingso it shouldn’t be hard to solve the problem in the first place.

The solution is quite simple, although it consists of several steps:

  • First of all, you will need to enter the phone’s time settings, which are located in Settings and then date and time (in some terminals it is located at the Headquarters).
  • Now it’s time to set the date and time to install automatically over the network.
  • then we should go to the car D set the time so on both devices we have the same, including the time zone, which is also important.
  • Before reconnecting your phone to the car USB, we recommend update both Android Auto and Google services to the latest version that everyone has.
  • Update both via google play store in the applications section. If we do not have them, then they are in the latest version.
  • Android Auto should now work in your car and not give error 8.

If after we have done everything we have indicated, you still have the problem that happened to some users (very few), the solution is to delete Android Auto data and reconnect to the car.

Steps Settings > Apps > Android Auto. Once inside, click on storage and in the next window Delete data. From here everything should work.

Error 14,12 and 11

We can combine these errors because they are solved in the same way, in much the same way as the error we saw before, but with a little or a lot of variation, depending on where you look.

The steps we have to follow are the following:

  • We open Parameter our smartphone.
  • We are going to Applications and we are looking for Android Auto.
  • Click and in the window that appears, go to the Storage.
  • The next step is to select the Clear cache and clear data option, and then return to the previous window.
  • We click force close Android Auto and uninstall.
  • Next, restart the phone.
  • As soon as it turns on, install Android Auto again and run it to put it with the car and see that the problems are fixed.

With what we have said, you can be more secure when it comes to fixing the various error codes that sometimes appear in Android auto.
