Gigabyte has launched a recall for customers with the Z690I Aorus Ultra motherboard. This decision was made based on complaints about pcie 4.0 that apparently couldn’t be resolved with a bios update. Affected users can request a refund or another copy.

The manufacturer has determined that some cards with certain pcie 4.0 graphics cards are acting unstable and displaying WHEA pcie errors. Although reducing the PCIe speed to Gen 3 solved the problem, Gigabyte preferred to change these models.

Customers can make a request through the website (link) until 30 November 2022. Users are required to provide general information, serial numbers and proof of purchase of the motherboard. You will then be able to choose a replacement model such as the Z690I Aorus Ultra Plus or a refund. Both ddr5 and ddr4 versions are suitable even for those who have just started or completed the return process.
