Due to the recent financial results, Meta has decided to suspend the hiring of new employees, but Mark Zuckerberg’s company assured him a few months ago that they would need at least 10,000 new workers to develop the metaverse.
According to CNBC, Factors such as inflation and declining income caused the tech giant to stop hiring new staff.
In the last quarter of 2021, Meta made 8 percent less profits, and in the first quarter of 2022 its earnings fell again by 21 percent.
Paradoxically, the project that requires the most investment is metaverse is the same one that needs new 10,000 people to runbut still no snow.
In the last three months of 2021, 10 billion has been allocated for the development of this digital universe. In the first three months of 2022, it was $3,000 million.
This puts the development of the metadata store in jeopardy, so one solution for now is to stop hiring people.
