Sonic writers Patrick Casey and Josh Miller recently spoke at Comic-Con at Klamath Community College, making some statements about the character of Shadow and about his presence in Sonic the hedgehog 3
This is what they said:
The fact that it is clear that Shadow is present in the franchise allows us to say that we would like to combine elements of Sonic Adventure 2 and Shadow the Hedgehog, the video game spin-off.
In Sonic Adventure 2, it is revealed that Shadow’s character is a genetic creation of Gerald Robotnik, grandfather of Ivo “Eggman” Robotnik. And since Shadow is the game’s main opponent, heroes and villains will have to work together to counter him. Although Shadow appears to die at the end of the game, he will reappear in 2005 in Shadow the Hedgehog.
However, here’s the synopsis of Sonic 2, released in theaters in April:
After settling in to Green Hills, Sonic can’t wait to prove he has what it takes to be a true hero.
The new challenge is not long in coming: Dr. Robotnik is back with a new ally, Knuckles, who will help him find an emerald that has the power to destroy civilization. With his new adventure partner Tails, Sonic embarks on a world journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.
