Roscosmos has developed a mobile application to access data from the Earth’s remote sensing system. “Digital Earth” can also be used for personal purposes and viewing satellite images of the planet’s surface.
The completion of the development of the beta version of the Digital Earth application was reported in the Roscosmos press service. The service is developed for the Android operating system and is available for download in the Google Play store.
“Digital Earth” gives access to Earth’s remote sensing data from a smartphone. You can also use this data for personal purposes.
Users have access to satellite images of the Earth’s surface taken by Russian satellites. Using the app, you can, for example, filter images by specific areas, dates they were taken, and resolution.
In November 2021, the former head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, announced the emergence of home satellite Internet in Russia. As part of the Sphere program, for which 7 billion rubles have been allocated, flight prototypes of satellites will be built to provide communications.
