Paul HaggisAmerican filmmaker best known for his 2004 film Crash – Physical contact (which won him the Oscar and numerous other awards) is in trouble, accused of sexual assault by an English woman, who claims to have been abused in recent days by the director during both of them’s Italian sojourns.

The facts are being investigated by the Public Prosecution Service, which is reconstructing the incident: apparently a thirty-year-old Englishwoman, who is already in our country and an old acquaintance of Haggis, is said to have reached the director of Salento to Ostuni, where the suspect was preparing to, as a guest and presenter, to attend the Allora Festival, an Apulian film festival that had him as guest of honor, but immediately broke off any collaboration with the same.

“Repeated assaults” and “non-consenting” relationships were committed between June 12 and 15 at a nearby bed and breakfast, police said. The woman would then be left in a clear state of confusion at Brindisi airport, where she was rescued and in recent days was able to shed light on the affair with those responsible, through the so-called Pink Protocol that she carried out all the necessary medical and psychological examinations. .
The arrest was therefore activated and Haggis is said to be currently under house arrest at a hotel in Brindisi, awaiting questioning by the judge in an interrogation with all the attributes that will hopefully shed light on the case.

It is not the first time that Haggis has been talked about, both for his private life and for his films: first a long stay in Scientologywhich ended in a storm, than previous sexual abuse allegations, as of 2018, for which it is still in dispute.
