Beginning with a period of relative calm, the series follows a cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they face the dreaded resurgence of evil in Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains to the majestic forests of the elven capital Lindon, from the breathtaking archipelago of Númenor to the farthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will battle to leave the world to those who will later survive their disappearance. .
One of the new interpreters involved in the project is Charles Edwards (previously seen in The Crown), the actor will take on the role of Celebrimbor, an elf whose skills will be used to create the rings of power; among the other characters revealed there are also the Pelopiedi, precursors to The Hobbit, and among them there are Dylan Smith (Maze Runner: The Death Cure) and Sara Zwangerobani (The Starter Wife) who will play the roles of Largo and Marigold in Brandyfoot, while Megan Richards (Wanderlust) plays Poppy Proudfellow; finally there will also be Sir Lenny Henry as Sadoc Burrows.
