Spatial Audio is coming to Netflix, and it does so at a huge disadvantage

Now that’s a fact, and in fact, it was just announced in a post on the company’s official blog. In this post, they stated that the platform already has spatial audio, and this comes thanks to a collaboration with Sennheiser, a well-known audio company.

According to what he said in barely four paragraphs of his Netflix blog post, spatial audio aims to enhance users’ senses when viewing the content of the platform.. Come on, create a bigger layer of emotion thanks to the sound found in both TV series and movies.

Everything sounds really good and the truth is. But adding spatial sound has one big downside, and that’s its compatibility.. Netflix didn’t want to get wet in the blog post, and that’s perfectly normal. In launching this announcement, what is expected is that all the content of the platform will integrate the new spatial sound.

The reality is quite different and, to be honest, disappointing. To access content compatible with this technology, the first thing to do is type in the Netflix search engine: spatial audio. We tried doing it in Spanish but English works better, at least for now.

Typing these two words will reveal content compatible with spatial sound, and the truth is there are 27 pieces of content that includes both movies and TV shows.. All are platform-generated content like Stranger Things. But TV shows and movies from abroad are still not compatible and, to be honest, this leaves a lot to be desired at the general level.
