Venom: The Last Dance It’s several things at once. On the one hand, the fifth part of the Spider-Man universe, developed by Sony. Something that allowed the studio to show a rare glimpse into everything that surrounds the New York City creep. On the other hand, it’s a more or less satisfying conclusion to all things Eddie Brock and Venom (Tom Hardy). Featuring a wild journey to keep the symbiote from being trapped by two enemies to be feared, the film is a farewell that ties up all the loose ends of the previous installments. At the same time, immerse yourself in the world full of cross-references to other Spider-Man related films and comic book stories.
So the big question that has been posed since the start of production is whether the Spider-hero played by Tom Holland or even Andrew Garfield will appear in Sony’s stories. After all, the studio’s projects were a chance for Marvel Comics to showcase Venom as an evolving anti-hero. Part of the success of the symbiote saga was that it had its own depth, conflicts and enemies. And all this against the backdrop of constant hints that Spider-Man may sooner or later appear as an antagonist who needs to be defeated. This would create a bridge between the Marvel Cinematic Universe and enemy saga developed by Sony.
The previous point became more evident than ever, and not just in the post-credits scene. Venom: There will be carnage 2021. Tom Holland appears directly in this film and it is suggested that the symbiote may have known him. Finally, the recent announcement of the appearance of the Skull, Spider-Man’s traditional and long-time enemy Venom: The Last Dance opened the door to the hero’s appearance in the film. Be it a cameo role or even a larger involvement in which the character was involved with one ofevil figures destined to become part of the multiverse. But does it do that?
Will Spider-Man appear in Venom: The Last Dance?
While the possibility seemed close and there was some ambiguity in interviews during the film’s promotion, the truth is that Spider-Man does not appear at the end of the Venom saga. In fact, the plot has nothing to do with the character. This is despite the fact that Sony has used the opportunity of a surprise appearance from New York’s friendly neighborhood in its latest projects. As you remember, one of the trailers of the failed Morbius seemed to directly indicate that Spider-Man would at least make a cameo appearance. This is, in all likelihood, what Andrew Garfield embodied, which did not happen.

Then in Madame Webthe name of Ben Parker’s (Adam Scott) nephew was one of the most unique and chaotic twists in the seedy film. Therefore, since the Venom saga was the most popular, recognized and had the best box office results in the Sony universe, it seemed inevitable that Spider-Man would be included in its plot. Or even that it would finally be possible to clarify the arrival Peter Parker, played by either Holland or Garfield, in the near future.

But this did not happen. So the big question that remains due to the obvious omission is whether the studio and Marvel plan to use the upcoming and highly anticipated Spider-Man 4 to bring both universes together. At best, increase the likelihood of multiple versions of the hero coexisting, which will be simple through exploring the multiverse. But until that happens, everything seems to indicate that Sony will continue his strange project to study the superhero’s most famous enemies.
Venom outside of Sony
As you may recall, Venom’s first appearance, which included a fight with the New York wall-crawler, took place in Spider-Man 3. However, the Eddie Brock storyline made no sense and was more of a forced reference than a real plot twist. He was played by Topher Grace for the occasion. It was considered one of the worst moments of the flop film.
So it was expected that the next big meeting would take place at a time when Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Tom Hardy’s Venom are enjoying huge popularity. Something that ultimately didn’t happen.
