Almost three years later, the second season was released Game “Squid” continues the brutal story that surprised the world in 2021. This time around, a larger, bloodier and more intricate competition scheme in which each participant must kill or be killed focuses on the dilemma. This is to stop what is happening in the arena at any cost. Specifically, showing that while players seem to have options, everything actually leads to death. This is for more distorted fun of the VIP audience in the stalls.
The new part of the production has an even more shocking ending than one might expect, as an immediate sequel has been confirmed. This is because games don’t actually end when the series ends. Song Gi Hoon (Lee Jeong Jae), who spent most of the episodes fighting to stop the competition, finds himself at the center of an outbreak of violence. As we remember, the organizers of sinister games provide the opportunity stop them with a public vote, which is counted by hand.
Gi-hoon’s intention was to manipulate the players into consciously making a decision that would lead to confrontation. Only he did not take into account that in the end the votes would be equal, which would take the tension to a new level. Something that causes a bloody fight in the men’s room that results in five murders. So, Gin-hu’s plan achieved a decisive victory. This is because the group of players wanting to continue the game lost 3 members, and yours only lost two. What could tip the scales? in favor of those who insist on an immediate end to this terrible spectacle.
A naive trick in the midst of violence
Of course, it’s not that simple. As the visible leader of those who want to sabotage the games, Gi Hoon became a target. Therefore, he assumes – and rightly so – that they will try to kill him, to even the score and give his opponents the opportunity to at least have room to maneuver. Whether it’s trying to convince other players to stay and try to win or kill someone else. Knowing that the chances of being killed are significant, he proposes a plan to his team.
In fact, everyone will have to take advantage of the attack being prepared at night against any of them. An outbreak of violence that will almost certainly become uncontrollable before anyone can stop it. Gi-hoon’s plan is to turn the arena into a confusing area where no one knows who is attacking. So he tells his followers to hide under the bunks and let that the situation is getting worse in the midst of darkness and chaos.

The maneuver is based on a simple point of view. Since the competition is meant to be a spectacle for the VIPS, Gi-hoon assumes that the Masked Men will arrive to quell the fight before everyone dies. As far as strategy suggests, wait for a group to arrive that is ready to attack so you can continue to stay in the sand and stay hidden. All so that when players kill each other and security must act, those who want to leave the games can take advantage of this. That is: confront the guards, snatch their costumes and weapons to finally leave the arena.
Something went wrong in The Squid Game

For the most part, Gi-hoon’s plan goes well. He and his followers not only manage to survive the night attack, but, posing as dead, they attack the Masked Ones. They eventually manage to steal their weapons and organize a rebellion. Although not all characters agree to fight, the rebellion has enough support among the survivors to leave the bedroom and run towards the control room. However, in the midst of their efforts, they are ambushed by guards. Most of the rebels end up dead.
Despite their efforts, Gi Hoon and Jung Bae (Lee Seo Hwan) never make it to the control room. Without bullets and in the middle of emergency protocol, they find themselves in no man’s land. That’s when the Leader (Lee Byung Hun) makes his masterstroke. Before this, he was part of the game as another participant whose plot twist is hidden until the last chapter. Once an attack begins, you immediately take steps to stop it. Through the walkie-talkie between the guards, makes everyone believe that the Leader, that is, He himself is dead.

Gi-hoon, convinced that there is still a chance to escape, tries to do so. Only to be caught in the onslaught. And although he survives, Jong-bae ends up dying. Finally, it turns out that Los Enmascarados were always ready to prevent the uprising and that there was little chance of defeating them – and perhaps none at all.
Another enemy in the shadows

Finally, Hwang Joon Ho (Wee Ha Joon), an undercover cop from the first season of the series. Game “Squid”who may be the last hope of the players, also turns out to be deceived. Throughout the season, there was a chance to track Gi-Hoon to the island and stop the games with the arrival of a police regiment. This happened because the player agreed to carry a tracker that would allow him to locate the competition course. But he ended up losing the device in the hands of the guards. What caused that Joon Ho and Captain Park (Hwang In Ho) immediately lost count.

But not everything was a matter of chance. In the end, the plot reveals that Puck is working with the organizers of the games. Therefore, he always deceived everyone or led them in the wrong direction. The captain even kills one of his crew to keep his secret. However, there is no information on how long he worked for the system that controls the island. The moment that is certain will be explored in the third – and final – season Game “Squid”.
And what does the strange scene after the credits of the series mean?

Game “Squid” The final creepy secret is kept in a unique post-credits scene. The episode, which lasts ten seconds, shows three players (Player 096, Player 100 and Player 353) going after Young Hee’s murderous doll. The camera then shows a close-up of the dark figure, and then presents an image of another doll, just as huge and menacing as the first. The artifact looks like a boy wearing a green hat and the same striped shirt.
This is Cheol Soo, who in Korean children’s books is Young Hee’s best friend. Which will obviously be a deadly test to overcome in the upcoming third season. To confirm this possibility, the post-credits scene ends with the red light going out and the green light coming on. This confirms the words of the creator of the series, Hwang Dong-hyuk, who left a message on Netflix’s official account in honor of the announcement of the second season. “You will also meet Young Hee’s boyfriend, Cheol Soo.” An ominous detail to consider in the future of The Squid Game.
