The first reactions of the critics a nothe feature film of Jordan Peele which will hit theaters on August 11. The reviews have been more than positive and some have described the film as Jordan Peele’s most ambitious.

Collider’s Steven Weintraub said it gives Nope “a definite thumbs up. Photography director Hoyte Van Hoytema shot the film with IMAX cameras, so go see it right away in IMAX.”

CNN’s Frank Pallotta noted:

A movie out of this world. A mix between a monster movie and a science fiction movie from the 50s about alien invasions. A show about the spectacular of horror. Jordan Peele has been compared to Hitchcock, but here we are confronted with an evolution of John Carpenter.

People’s Nigel Smith advised “seeing the film on the largest screen possible”, while Heather Wixson thought it was “a film that exceeded my expectations, able to combine science fiction with something of value in Hollywood”.

Also important is Scott Menzel’s comment who called it “Jordan Peele’s most ambitious film, but also its weakest.” The first act is sublime, but the second becomes a bad M. Night Shyamalan feature with Spielberg-style elements.”

We close with the opinion of Erik Davis of Comicbook.com who named Nope as “one of the best movies I’ve seen so far in 2022”.
