STARZ today announced that the highly anticipated prequel to the global hit series is in development Foreigner who will get the title Outlander: Blood of My Blood. The writers’ work on the drama that will follow the love story of Jamie Fraser’s parents has begun. The series will be available on STARZPLAY in Europe, Latin America and Brazil and on STARZ in the United States and Canada.

Matthew B. Roberts is writing Outlander: Blood of My Blood and will serve as showrunner and executive producer. He is also the showrunner and executive producer of Outlander, which is currently in its seventh season. Maril Davis will also produce the prequel alongside Ronald D. Moore, who developed Outlander for television, under their production label Tall Ship Productions. Story Mining & Supply Company participates in the production with Diana Gabaldon as the advisory producer.
Outlander: Blood of My Blood is produced by Sony Pictures Television. Executive Vice President of Original Programming, Karen Bailey, will oversee the prequel on behalf of STARZ. The Outlander television series is inspired by Diana Gabaldon’s internationally acclaimed books, which have sold approximately 50 million copies worldwide, with all nine titles on the New York Times bestseller list. The Outlander television series has become a worldwide success with audiences, encompassing the genres of history, science fiction, romance and adventure in one extraordinary story.
