Predator: Prey it was a success even with specialized critics. This is despite the mild controversy that its protagonist was a woman. And also that the plot took place centuries before the original. But a new movie is available Disney+/Star+ it’s a tribute to the franchise and its way of understanding violence and action. If director Dan Trachtenberg had one thing in mind, it was to ensure the production was of the highest quality. Also his ability to restore more recognizable elements of the story’s mythology predator.
With its naturist appearance, the idea of the yautja as an aggressive and cunning creature, Predator: Prey returned to his roots. Or, at least, the way the first two productions were about how the alien hunter confronts people. In both John McTiernan’s 1987 film and Stephen Hopkins’ 1990 film The Hunter and His Prey they had to measure their strength in a situation of inequality. Especially when the predator was dressed in all sorts of futuristic outfits, incomprehensible to his opponents.
But in the end, it took courage, strategy, and intellect to deal with this creature. Something that Predator: Prey used as an element of transcendent importance. Also, like a twist of relevance in a quick and concise script that leads to an elegant conclusion. Which Disney + / Star + production points have been restored compared to the previous ones for the new era of the saga? We list them below.

Predator uses technology
The Predator comes from an advanced alien culture devoted almost exclusively to hunting and warfare. So all of his weapons are designed to be multifunctional tools that speed up the task of killing. AT predator, In 1987, Dutch’s character had to forego the possibility of a frontal attack. And to understand the effectiveness of more subtle and application-related tactics.
The same goes for Naru, the central figure. Predator: Prey. Once he realizes that defeating the Yautja is next to impossible, he decides to try it with a trick of skill. And that includes figuring out how your adversary’s alien technology works and using it to your advantage. A plot twist that the saga has used successfully before.
Mythic saga phrase predator
The saga often discusses the titular creature as a mystery. He did this in the first of his deliveries, in which he was an unfathomable presence in the jungle. Further, in his sequel, in which he is a mysterious killer in the middle of Los Angeles.
AT Predator: Prey, happens the same way. During the opening scenes, the Naru tribe assumes that the mysterious monster attacking them is a mythical creature. Or, at least, an inexplicable monster that crawls out of the thicket in search of victims.
But like Schwarzenegger’s Dutch, the characters eventually find the answer to the true nature of the Yautja. Clear enough to counter him. That’s when Taabe, Naru’s brother, says one of the most recognizable lines in the franchise. “If he bleeds, we can kill him”. A line that connects the film to the rest of its mythology.
Body temperature and those little power details
naru from Predator: Prey He has the gift of observation. Or so it is asserted on several points of the argument. You can see what others can’t see which makes her a hunter gifted with a rare gift, which allows him to almost immediately notice something in the predator, which makes his character related to the character of Schwarzenegger. Both Dutch and the young Comanche discover that the alien can sense their body temperature.
And both characters conclude that this ability gives the monster a special advantage. So they immediately decide to look for ways to avoid it. Dutch covers himself in mud to lower his temperature, and Naru eats an orange blossom, which apparently serves the same purpose.
The meaning of the weapon depicted on Predator: Prey
After defeating the Yautja, Naru returns to the tribe with his opponent’s head as a trophy. Likewise with something else. A pistol given to him by one of the men who helped him during his confrontation with the alien creature. The engraved phrase is clearly read on the weapon. “Raphael Adolini 1715”.
This is, of course, a direct reference to the scene in predator 2, in which Mike Harrigan (Danny Glover) gets the same gun. He obtains it from the hands of the Yautja group after the character defeats a hunter hiding in the city of Los Angeles. This is an ominous and eloquent moment that makes it clear that Predator: Preycould have continued.
This old custom in the saga
End credits Predator: Prey they act as a post-credits scene. In a kind of cave animation, you can see the entire plot of the film, reproduced in its most important moments. But in the end, it shows what could be a much more disturbing element. The image shows a group of Yautja ships returning to the tribe.
Is this a new and future confrontation beyond the announcement of a sequel? Or the well-known custom of hunters to find the body of one of the fallen in the middle of a battle? The film does not provide answers. But the fact that Danny Glover’s character gets a gun in the future that Naru shows the tribe is not good news. Or, at least, they make clear the possibility of a confrontation with complex consequences.
