The streaming market and the battle the studios are waging to control it all leaves us with a panorama that we need to devote around 50 euros a month to enjoy it all. We have Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+, Prime Video, Movie and of course we’re leaving some more.

Well, don’t fret and get your wallet out, because now it’s time to add another one to the equation: ViacomCBS has confirmed the company’s new streaming platform, SkyShowtime, will arrive in Spain and other European regions at the end of 2022. .

SkyShowtime will bring content to our country from North American platforms and networks such as: Paramount+, Peacock, NBCUniversal, Nickelodeon, Showtime, Sky Studios, Universal Pictures or Paramount Pictures.

More than a year after SkyShowtime was first announced, Variety has announced that Paramount’s streaming service is ready to join the streaming challenge in Europe.

The new platform will be officially launched in the Nordic countries on September 20. from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden before expanding to the Netherlands in the fourth quarter of this year.

Meanwhile, the service will continue to be available Spain, Portugal, Andorra and other parts of Europe over the next few months and until the first quarter of 2023.

Specific release dates and pricing in the aforementioned markets will be announced in the coming months. SkyShowtime is intended for European markets not yet serviced by Paramount+.

The service will feature television premieres of Paramount Pictures and Universal Pictures’ first releases. For example: Top Gun: Maverick, Jurassic World Dominion, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Downton Abbey: A New Age.

The platform will also offer new series with channels such as: Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon, DreamWorks Animation, Paramount+, Showtime, Sky Studios and Peacock.

SkyShowtime will cost 6.99 euros per month in Finland, so we should expect this price to be maintained in the rest of Europe at least this year.

Powered by the Peacock platform (already available in the US), SkyShowtime was created specifically for our continent. Therefore, its apps and content will be available in 18 different languages.
