Inside Out 2 it’s already a reality. The sequel to the Pixar hit was officially announced at the D23 Expo Animation Panel and is set to premiere in Summer 2024. An annual event where Disney talks about upcoming titles under its own name.
After success inside out in 2015, which conquered critics and box office, rumors about the second part were constantly circulating. In fact, the original film’s ending left the door open for a logical sequel. The Pixar film concluded with the opportunity to experience adolescence from within the protagonist through the representation of her emotions materialized in animated creatures.
In general, Pixar and Disney have always been between no and ambiguity. when it seemed like Inside Out 2 had to become a reality, there was always a denial. In fact, in 2016, Pixar president Jim Morris foresaw that there would be no project to release a second part. The animation factory’s new goal was to focus on original games.
That was, of course, almost 6 years ago and Pixar changed its mind. Dom has already revisited previous games several times to salvage ideas. Last, Light year, a film dedicated to one of its iconic characters. In 2018 and 2019 they also launched The Incredibles 2 and Toy Story 4. When Inside Out 2 is, despite the announcement of D23, unknown. But, following the nature of the Pixar continuity, everything points to us seeing Riley again in a few more years. Most likely in the so-called turkey age or adolescence. With joy, sadness, anger, fear and disgust on their inner plane, the film’s writers have the daunting task of portraying the emotional rollercoaster this age presents for young people.

Directed by Pete Docter, there are no details on whether he will return to the reins of the new game at Pixar. This is a well-known name in the company, the creator Ratatouille and Wall-e, has several well-known titles behind him. In the original version, Amy Poehler ruled happiness, Phyllis Smith ruled sadness, Bill Hader ruled fear, Lewis Black ruled anger, Mindy Kaling ruled disgust, and Richard Kind ruled Riley’s imaginary friend.
