The flash will end with the ninth season, and its protagonist, Grant Gustin, wanted to share a farewell message for the series just before the filming of the final. The final season of the TV series will be distributed on the network the CW in 2023.

Tomorrow we start shooting The Flash finale. I am grateful for the journey I have taken and for the growth it has brought me. Thanks to everyone who gave me this opportunity, to all the fans of the series, and to those who were part of The Flash’s journey.
Series executive producer Eric Wallace said of the show’s conclusion:
Nine seasons! Nine seasons spent saving Central City and taking the audience on an exciting journey full of heart, humor and entertainment. And now Barry Allen is on his way to his final run. So many wonderful people have offered their talent, time and love to bring this show to life and broadcast it every week. And we plan to honor all of that with a final chapter. And I want to thank our phenomenal cast, writers, producers and team who have made Flash an unforgettable experience for years.
