Elba plays Dr. Nate Daniels, a recently widowed return to South Africa, where he met his wife, for a long-planned trip with his daughters to a game reserve run by Martin Battles (in TV series such as Sharlto Copley and Russian Doll, and films such as Maleficent ), an old family friend and wildlife biologist. What begins as a healing journey turns into a terrifying struggle for survival when a lion, who has survived bloodthirsty poachers, begins to haunt them and feels threatened by humans.
Iyana Halley (The Courage of Truth – The Hate U Give and TV series This is Us) plays Daniels’ 18-year-old daughter Meredith, and Leah Sava Jeffries (TV series Riot and Empire) plays 13-year-old Norah.
From intense director Baltasar Kormákur who directed Universal Pictures’ Everest, Loose Dogs and Contraband, Beast is produced by Will Packer, producer of The Girls’ Journey, the Ride Along series and ten films that have reached number one at the US box office. , including Night School, Murderous Obsession and Think Like a Man, by James Lopez, president of Will Packer Productions, and Baltasar Kormákur. The film is written by Ryan Engle (Rampage, Non-Stop), based on an original story by Jaime Primak Sullivan, who also serves as an executive producer with Bernard Bellew.
