Netflix released the first clip of Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Stories of the Macabre, the streaming platform’s animated series that brings to the screen some stories about the popular horror manga. In the film we see the opening theme of the series.
Here’s the first clip of Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre.
The series will focus on 20 stories by Junji Ito. The same platform mentioned some titles that will be adapted: we are talking about “Hanging Balloon”, “Ice Cream Truck”, “Tomb Town”, “Library Vision” and “Headless Statue”. Among those already mentioned, we can mention Tomie, Four x Four Walls and Intruder.
The original voice cast will see the presence of Ryotaro Okiayu as Sonohara, Sara Matsumoto will be Tomoki, Takatsugu Chikamatsu will be Ice Cream Man, Ryohei Kimura will be Tsuyoshi Yoshikawa, MAO will be Kaoru Yoshikawa, Aya Uchida will be the voice of Izumi Murakami, Yuki Kaji will be Goro Shinozaki, Tomoe Hanba will borrow the voice of Koko Shinozaki, Fumiko Orikasa will be Rumi and Takashi Kondo will be Shimada.
And then there’s Hisako Kanemoto again who will do Sayoko, Yoko Hikasa will be Chiemi, Natsumi Takamori will do Kuriko, Takahiro Sakurai will be the voice of Kazuya Hikizuri, Romi Park will do Kiko, Hajime Iijima will be Shigoro, Risa Shimizu will do Narumi, Ayaka Asai will take on Hitoshi’s shoes, Tomoko Kaneda will play Misako, Riho Sugiyama will be Kazuko Morinaka, Daisuke Kishio will be Shinya Shiraishi, Iori Nomizu will be Kagumi Fujino, Rie Suegara will voice Tomie, Yumiri Hanamori becomes Tsukiko Izumisawa, Taku Yashiro becomes Yamazaki, Tomokazu and Sugachi Yoshino plays Kimata, Yuji Mitsuya becomes Soichi, Yoshimasa Hosoya gives voice to Koichi, Yuka Saito is Sayuri, Yutaka Aoyama plays the role of Tagaisu, and Hiro Shimono plays Oshikiri.
Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre will be available on Netflix January 19.
