Interviewed by Josh Horowitz, the popular recording artist Henry Cavill spoke of a suggestion from the same author of the saga of TwilightStephenie Meyer, who many years ago would have wanted the current Superman as Edward Cullen, instead of Robert Pattinson.

Here’s Cavill’s response to this suggestion:

I didn’t know there was a desire to have me in the part, I discovered it recently. When I heard this, I said to myself ‘well, that would be nice’.

Meyer wrote on her blog in 2007:

What I regret most is the fact that I lost my perfect Edward. Henry Cavill is currently 24 years old. Let’s come together in a moment of mourning.

Currently, Cavill has resumed playing Superman, and the actor himself made the announcement via a video message on Instagram. The actor will also be Sherlock Holmes in Enola Holmes 2. Here are his words:

I waited until the weekend was over before I posted this video because I wanted to give you the chance to see Black Adam. Now I can officially say: I’m back as Superman. What you’ve seen in Black Adam is just a small taste of what’s to come. Thank you for your patience and support, I promise it will pay off.

Recall that the Twilight saga started with the first film in 2008 and lasted five films until 2012.
