Ryan Coogler, director Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, showed that Namor (Tenoch Huerta) is incredibly strong and powerful. Providing the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a new character with many storytelling possibilities for the future of the franchise.

He mentioned this in an interview done by the Marvel website. “There is no one like him in terms of capabilities. Namor can breathe underwater, at high altitude, and walk on land with no problem.” […] He’s incredibly strong, as strong as Thor, and if he’s underwater, he can be as strong as the Hulk.”

Also, his motives are not necessarily due to him being the villain in the story. In fact, he considers himself the savior of Talokan, looking for ways to keep his underwater kingdom a secret. Tenoch Huerta explains this in the same interview:

“For me, he’s just a hero, it’s not Namor’s job to think about how the world perceives him or what other characters think of him. He tries to protect himself and his culture from the outside world. From colonialism, how could it contradict their values. and their culture,” the actor said.

Namor’s debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Namor’s debut has been one of the most anticipated in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it will finally take place in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Kevin Feige recently revealed that 18 years ago, the studio requested a script for a movie starring the character. In the end, this never happened, but during the recording of the first Black Pantherdirector Ryan Coogler proposed a war between Wakanda and Atlantis that would eventually turn Talokan into the Cinematic Universe rather than the comics.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is a continuation Black Panther, which also marks the end of the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It opens November 11th. We recently interviewed Nate Moore, the film’s producer, who gave us some very interesting details related to the fact that Namor is a mutant and how that will inevitably lead us to the X-Men.
