The cuts that the streaming platform Netflix does on several productions have also fallen on Meghan Markleaand on the animated series Pearlwhich Prince Harry’s wife would co-produce with Archewell Productions as a result of the deal signed in late 2020.

At the center of Pearl is said to have stood a twelve-year-old girl, who finds inspiration through the path of women who have made history. Meghan Markle herself had described the project as follows:

Like many girls her age, Pearl’s heroine is in search of herself and will have to face several daily challenges. I’m thrilled that Archewell Productions and Netflix will be working together, working with these amazing producers on a series that will celebrate the greatest women in history.

Other animated series that Netflix has recently discontinued are Dino Daycare and the adventure story Boons and Curses. But the TV series Space Force with Steve Carell and the series Raising Dion have also been canceled after two seasons of production on the streaming platform. This is likely all part of a reshuffle of Netflix’s development plan, following the announcement of its subscriber decline.
