Few movie moments are better than after a two-hour suspicion you are right with the one who wielded the dagger that ended the life of the countess in her husband’s office in the mansion in the Hamptons (the most prestigious area of Long Island, New York).
Yes, this sounds like a scene from Cluedo, the legendary board game where you had to figure out who the killer is. But the fact is that today all recommendations are based on the same premise: There is a criminal, he appears on the screen along with other would-be killers… and we don’t know who to target.
Like that recurring scene in the movies where we see a group of suspects being questioned by the police. They look alike, they could all be bad guys, but in reality only one of them committed the crime. And we couldn’t forgive ourselves for sending an innocent man to the electric chair… right?

When renowned detective novelist Harlan Thrombey is found dead in his mansion, just after a family celebration of his 85th birthday, inquisitive and polite detective Benoit Blanc is mysteriously brought in to investigate the case.
Few works drink so much from the great and wonderful Agatha Christie, and in Daggers in the Back (2019), director/writer Rian Johnson does a fantastic job of killing in the best possible way. The end, I tell you, you can’t even imagine.
Daniel Craig, Ana de Armas, Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, Don Johnson, Michael Shannon, Christopher Plummer… the cast is amazing, where everything is perfect, with special attention to the first, who plays the investigator Benoit Blanc.
It was on Prime Video, then moved to Netflix and ended up on HBO Max. waiting for a new streaming service because it’s a business now: the continuous bounce where you never know where every movie is, you just looks like I saw her that day at that service.

Murder on the Orient Express
On the legendary Orient Express train, Belgian detective Hercule Poirot investigates a murder committed on the way, in which all passengers on the train are suspected of it. We have already talked about Agatha Christie. Well, welcome to one of the best novels by the English writer.
As in “Daggers in the Back”, the cast is impressive: Kenneth Branagh, Daisy Ridley, Josh Gad, Derek Jacobi, Penélope Cruz, Michelle Pfeiffer, Willem Dafoe, Johnny Depp… and we don’t go on because it makes us laugh. Without a doubt, one of the best posters of recent years.
If you know this book because you’ve read it, don’t worry, it’s a pleasure. There are new additions if you’re interested, and the staging is pretty good. It’s not the best of films, but you can blame everyone for that, and it got you hooked.
As a good movie that belongs to the Disney universe, it’s available to watch on Disney+ right now, as is the new Death on the Nile movie on the Mickey Mouse service.

In a large secluded Victorian mansion, several colorful characters gather for dinner at the mysterious invitation of an unknown host. They all have something to hide, for which they have been vilely blackmailed for years.
When the house’s lights go out due to a brief power outage, the blackmailer is found murdered in the living room. Now they have to find out which of them was the criminal, and this is a very difficult task, given that they all had good motives for committing a crime.
What do you think of this plot? This is logical, because we in Spain have been playing the same board game, also called Cluedo, for decades. Of all the entries on the list, this one perfectly illustrates the importance of reporting.
Tim Curry, Christopher Lloyd, Bill Henderson, Michael McKean, Jay Weedlin, Collen Camp, Martin Mull… as you can see, there were already great films in 1985 with very good actors. This film is the origin of a genre that has always had a representative for decades. It’s available on Apple TV+.
