The production of Welcome to Derrythe prequel to the TV series THE, so on: Showrunners have recently been found, which will be Jason Fuchs and Brad Caleb Kane. The former already worked on IT: Chapter Two, the latter worked on productions such as Fringe, Black Sails, Lodge 49 and Tokyo Vice. Here are his words about it:
We work hand in hand with Jason Fuchs, Brad Caleb Caine, Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti. They know the mythology of IT very well, and they know how to work with these characters and what insanely scary stuff they put into the production. Sometimes I think there is something wrong with them given all the scary ideas and signals they scare us with all the time. You will soon receive news about the development of this project. Andy is very involved in the project and this is a very important aspect to give the fans something that can satisfy them.
The project runs in continuity with IT’s two previous cinematic chapters as Andy and Barbara Muschietti are involved in the production. Andy Muschietti did the IT movies and Jason Fuchs also worked on the projects. Just Fuchs, in addition to acting as showrunner, was also tasked with writing the first episode of the series, working with the Muschiettis.
To prove the creepy atmospheres and themes the production is bringing to the TV series Welcome to Derry, we show you the first image leaked some time ago of the writers’ room, with lots of red balloons scattered across the corridors.

Variety has revealed that Andy Muschietti will direct the first episode. The project will be handled by Warner Bros. Television, the same production company that made the two IT movies.
Recall that IT: Chapter One was released in 2017, while IT: Chapter Two was released in 2019. The films were directed by Andy Muschietti.
