Sensational news has recently been released about the franchise Indiana Jones: the streaming platform Disney+ would develop a special TV series. This was revealed by the Variety website, which reportedly reported the news through some sources.
The idea of the Indiana Jones TV series is said to have come about during some meetings with Lucasfilm and Disney. Currently, the two production realities would be looking for a scenario to entrust the production work to. It’s unclear if the show could serve as a prequel or spin-off to the franchise, or if it will tie in with the fifth film in the upcoming saga.
The news comes after it was revealed that Harrison Ford will end up with the new feature film starring Indiana Jones. However, Disney is trying to understand how to keep the franchise alive even without the actor who has always represented the protagonist of the saga.
As early as the 1990s, a television movie was developed entitled The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, which aired on ABC between 1992 and 1993. In addition to Harrison Ford, Sean Patrick Flanery and Corey Carrier starred as the character.
