Star Wars Celebration 2023 takes place and began with the announcement of three new productions as films within the franchise. All are full of surprises related to their directors, main characters or themes.
After the premiere Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, the Star Wars universe was in complete disarray with new movies and TV shows announced and later cancelled. Among them is a production for which Kevin Feige (Marvel Studios) or the creators of Game of ThronesDavid Benioff and D. B. Weiss.
But the premiere The Mandalorian on Disney+ gave the franchise fresh air and seemingly new purpose. Andorwith its excellent reviews – albeit not as large an audience – cemented Star Wars’ new intentions and eventual direction to be somewhat clearer.
Thus, three new productions, all for cinema, have been announced, in which Star Wars will work in the next few years.
Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi takes place 25,000 years before Episode IV and tells the origin of the first Jedi.
Although the title is not official, a graphic showing all current and future productions was shown on screen. It was confirmed that Dawn of the Jedi will happen 25,000 years before the events of the Skywalker saga.
The film will be directed by James Mangold, best known for his work on Logan, ford vs ferrari, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Doomor Knight and Day. The tone, while not official, seems biblical, showing how a Jedi is using the Force for the first time.
