In a recent statement, Xbox has announced that it will introduce Xbox Game Pass Core starting September 14. This new service will be an evolution of Xbox Live Gold and will provide access to the multiplayer network, a catalog of 25+ games, and exclusive offers for members for $9.99 per month.

For over two decades, Xbox Live has allowed gamers around the world to connect and experience online multiplayer. In 2017, Xbox introduced Game Pass, which offers access to a specific library of games. Now, Game Pass Core combines online play and Game Pass in a new offering for gamers around the world.

As part of this evolution, Xbox also announced the end of Games with Gold. Rather than continuing this program, Xbox has chosen to include selected games from the Game Pass library to make the offer more appealing.

The launch collection will include more than 25 games from Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda and content partners, with something for every Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One gamer.

Some of the games confirmed for release include Among Us, DOOM Eternal, Fallout 4 and 76, and Forza Horizon 4. The company said it expects to add new games two to three times a year.

For existing Xbox Live Gold members, your membership will automatically convert to a Game Pass Core membership on September 14.subscription price remains the same.

Member discounts and offers will also be part of Game Pass Core. While Games with Gold will be discontinued on September 1, players will still have access to all previous Xbox One games they’ve used through this mechanism as long as they remain a Game Pass Core or Game Pass Ultimate member.
