Street Fighter 6 appeared on the State of Play yesterday with a first gameplay trailer. A few hours after the event, Capcom published an extensive post on the PlayStation blog revealing several details about the new chapter of the famous fighting game coming in 2023.
The new chapter of the series is in development with the RE Engine from Capcom, already used for Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil Village and Devil May Cry 5, allowing a technical and graphical improvement in many respects. Returning to Street Fighter 6, Ryu, Chun-Li and Luke can also count on a completely revamped aesthetic. They will be joined by newcomer Jamie, who will enrich the game with his unique style and unpredictable moves, based on the style known as drunken boxing.
The core of the combat system is the new Drive Systemwhich consists of five special moves, including the Drive Impact (a powerful attack that absorbs the enemy’s attack and throws the opponent), the Drive Parry (a parry that dodges the attack and charges the Drive Gauge), the Drive Rush and Drive Reversal , which adds new counter attacks in difficult situations.
Besides Arcade Modes, Training Mode, Versus Matches Local, Street Fighter 6 also introduces two new modes called World tour And battle hub The first is an immersive single-player story mode and the second is a space where you can interact with other players online and about which new information will be released soon.
Finally, to meet all players, Capcom also has the two control systems Classic and modern: The first, designed for Street Fighter veterans, involves the use of six keys.
