Just yesterday we told you that MSI shared teaser of what looked like a laptop in console format. Well, not even a day has passed, and it is already almost completely drained. According to information received Video card, His name is MSI Claw. We were able to see not only its design, but also some characteristics.

MSI Claw will be a direct competitor to Steam Deck, Asus ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go. However, its feature list offers a surprise that sets it apart from all its competitors.

Most of us thought that the MSI Claw would be integrated with the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, which is specially designed for this type of product. In fact, this is the heart of the Asus ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion GO. But the Asian manufacturer chose a different path.

Instead of AMD’s offer, MSI Claw is equipped with Intel Core Ultra 7 processor. “Meteor Lake”which has 16 cores (6 productive, 8 efficient and 2 low efficient) and 22 topics. At least in terms of the number of cores it is more powerful than the Z1 Extreme. Additionally, its base clock speed 3.80 GHz.

It is important to remember that for several years now the blue brand has been betting on the efficiency and performance of its processor cores. However, most gaming laptop manufacturers, at least the more established ones, have turned their backs on this offering in favor of the classic mode offered by AMD. It must be for something. We’ll have to see if the MSI Claw is able to demonstrate the potential of this processor in portable.

As for the graphic part, then MSI Claw boasts an 8-core Intel Xe processor and clock frequency up to 2.25 GHz. RAM, in turn, 32 GBwhich is twice as much as his main opponents.

There is no information yet about its battery, which will always be critical for gaming laptops. One thing is clear: the MSI Claw will have to make an effort in this section, since the Intel Core Ultra 7 processor integrated into it has a TDP 28 W. This amount can reach 115 W in Max Turbo mode.

Another detail that is still unknown is the screen. Based on the leaked image, we suspect the panel dimensions will be very similar to the Asus ROG Ally at 7 inches. Of course we expect technology LCD display instead of the much desired OLED.

The official presentation of MSI Claw will take place during CES 2024., which begins next Tuesday, January 9th. Thus, next week we will find out all the characteristics, as well as its price and availability.
