Although it has been available in other regions for several weeks, it was only today that the new PS5 interface began rolling out in Spain. Sony PlayStation confirmed this via its official X account, and also showed off some of the new features available in the PS5 dashboard.
The new interface is part of a list of new features coming with the September update, although Spanish users were unable to use the new widget system as it was rolled out gradually across regions.
In addition to the new Welcome Center, the update includes some particularly useful features such as Custom 3D Audio Profiles for Headphoness, per-user remote control, and adaptive charging for controllers (though only for the PS5 slim model and PS5 Pro once it becomes available).
Some social features have also been added, such as the new ability to share groups with links via messaging apps or social networks. However, the highlight is the new welcome interface, which includes the ability to customize wallpaper, although not for the entire console, but for the widget system.
The new PS5 hub is fully customizable
The Welcome Center is now the home screen that the user will see as soon as they turn on the console: an area that can be customized with widgets to see information at a glance. You can change both the number of widgets and their location and size, as well as the ability to add any wallpaper from the gallery. This way, you can add various widgets such as console memory, battery level of accessories, online friends, trophies and much more.
You can choose between several predefined widget configurations, but in any case you can create your personalized space by choosing what you want or not to show in the welcome center, or exclude widgets that you are not interested in, for example from the Store or for example Trophies .
You don’t need to do anything to use the new Welcome Center. If you’ve updated your PS5 to the latest version (there is no specific update for this), it will be available to you when you turn on your console, starting today.
