penance returns to show himself in a new video diary published by Obsidian devoted entirely to historyBee mechanical and all visual style of the game. In the video, which you can find below, the game director Josh Sawyer, the creative director Hannah Kennedy and many other personalities who contributed to the creation of the game talk about the characteristics and quirks of this intriguing investigative adventure set in the Upper Bavaria of the sixteenth century.
The video also focuses in particular on the style chosen to stage this fascinating investigative adventure: the game is in fact presented as an interactive work reconstructed according to the style of illuminated manuscripts and a little woodcut print of medieval Europe. The team also cites one of the main sources of inspiration as “The Nuremberg Chronicle“, Hartmann Skull’s famous collectible, written in Latin in 1493, in which the colors, shapes and designs evoke the style of the characters and historical imagery recreated by Obsidian.
