A week ago, we introduced a new version of AMD graphics cards, the RX 6050 generation, which has become an intermediate generation to compete with NVIDIA’s special models. Then we saw good performance from AMD’s new batch.

Since their launch, gamers have been tinkering with them, speaking highly of AMD’s work in optimizing the current architecture and, above all, the drivers. Based on code improvements at AMD, they are already catching up to NVIDIA in terms of scaling and ray tracing.

Frank Azor, one of AMD’s most prominent executives, tweeted that as a gamer, he’s excited to see competition in the high-end graphics card segment. And along with that, he posted a graph showing how his RX series performs compared to NVIDIA’s RTX.

The bottom line of the comparison is comparing RX 6050 and RTX 3000 graphics at similar prices in terms of performance per dollar (FPS/$) and frames per watt (FPS/Watt).. As you understand, this can be interpreted in the same way in the euro.

According to the schedule The AMD RDNA 2 architecture offers up to 89% more performance per dollar than Nvidia cards.; this picture compares the RX 6400 to the GTX 1050 Ti.

In its turn, The flagship AMD RX 6950 XT offers 80% more FPS/$ than the RTX 3090 and 22% more FPS/watt. with a Radeon card requiring 15W less power to achieve the same number of images per second.

As far as power consumption is concerned, AMD is ahead of Nvidia in terms of performance per watt, with the exception of the RX 6750 XT. (compared to RTX 3070) and RX6500XT (compared to GTX 1650).

Of course, don’t pay too much attention to AMD’s marketing chart. First, it doesn’t mention which games were used for the FPS tests, but we guarantee they were chosen in favor of AMD hardware because they all do.

Then there are prices. The chart says he’s using Newegg (specialty store in the US) prices as of May 10th, but as we know, the cards haven’t stopped getting cheaper for weeks.

Marketing notwithstanding, the future of computing must go through what we tell you: Kumi law. Click here if you don’t know it, it’s worth finding out.
