Foreign journalists have already received a 15-inch MacBook Air.
This is the first MacBook with such a diagonal and the first enlarged Air in recent years. Basically, everyone was satisfied with the novelty, but some publications were found and cons.
We understand.
1. Edge
The 15-inch Air doesn’t change the world; he just does his job very, very well
Journalists from The Verge were among the first to share their impressions. The following are excerpts from their text.
Everyday use of this device is not much different from using the 13-inch Air. Keyboard, track, front camera – everything is identical. The biggest differences in contacts, sudden (?), 15.3″ 16:10 aspect ratio display.
I can open two windows side by side and not resize them. In the “trinashka”, you might have to slightly reduce their diagonal.
The second big difference between laptops is weight. The 13-inch Air weighs 1.3 kg and the 15-inch Air weighs 1.5 kg. The difference is 200 grams, and it was noticed. While the 15″ Air is much larger than the 16″ Air, it is significantly larger than the 13″ Air.
The third big difference is speakers. They are good in Air 13, and amazing in Air 15. Bass sounds like it doesn’t sound on almost any computer; I was so stunned when the bass IC first came out, I thought it must have come from some kind of Bluetooth speaker.
The performance score of Air 13 and Air 15 are almost equal. I note: in the area of \u200b\u200bthe function keys of sound pressure, tension is still felt under heavy loads.
Finally, autonomy here is about on par with a 13-inch conversation. The laptop lasted 14.5 hours on a single charge, while the Air 13 gave me an average of 13 hours. I still don’t understand why the taller device gave me better run time numbers – give me the science behind this.
Other than that, it’s just as great a laptop as ever. I have no reason not to recommend it to Airs fans.
2. Engadget
It’s just a good laptop that just got a little better.
Engadget specialists did not stand aside either.
The little things that come to light on the miniLED displays in the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros are missing, including greater contrast, HDR support, a slightly larger display per inch, and 120Hz refresh rate reproduction. But Apple’s stock displays are still very good, and the MacBook Air’s screen is bright and crisp. It is pleasant to look at for long periods of time.
This version has 6 speakers (there are four in the 13-inch). They’re not as good as the 16-inch MacBook Pro, but this laptop is significantly thicker and heavier than the Air; this space helps with resonance and bass.
However, the 15-inch Air is just a slightly larger version of the 13-inch model. It has the same relatively meager selection of ports: two USB-C, MagSafe for power, and a headphone jack for everything. The laptop comes in the same four colors.
Despite the fact that the screen size has increased in this version, and the laptop itself has become larger, it is still more comfortable to walk with it than with the MacBook Pro.
As far as performance is concerned, there is almost no difference with the 13-inch model. Scores in Geekbench 6, Cinebench R23 and some other benchmarks are limited to a few points.
My only concern is that the new Air runs on a chip, mine has been for about a year now. It’s so powerful that it shouldn’t be a problem to connect to the air.
If you need a more powerful processor, then you should pay attention to the MacBook Pro. As for autonomy, the new “air” lives for about 12 hours, which is enough for a whole day of work.
This is actually one of the best Apple laptops I’ve used in a long time. It excels at everything that tops the 13-inch MacBook Air, and it fails to notice strong performance and only a modest price increase.
