Although mayonnaise is an oily product, it is actually good for the body as it contains vegetable oils that help us stay healthy. This was reported by Aleksey Kabanov, nutritionist-consultant and deputy director of the ANO Research Center “Healthy Nutrition”. She recommends two to three teaspoons of mayonnaise per day, which is the optimal dose of healthy fats.

Kabanov notes that mayonnaise contains cholesterol, which is essential for proper cell function and helps the body produce important substances, including vitamin D and sex hormones. In addition, the unsaturated fats contained in mayonnaise affect vision, make the skin more elastic and help rejuvenate the body.

It is important to note that it is not always necessary to reduce the fat content of products. For example, if you replace mayonnaise with sour cream, we get harmful saturated fats of animal origin, which are found in dairy products. Therefore, mayonnaise with vegetable oils is a more useful option.
