This is not only below last year’s 258 million figure, but also well below Samsung’s own estimate of 270 million, and if actual sales are below 250 million, it would be the lowest result for the company in the last 10 years.

The decline in sales is due to difficult market conditions, especially in the mid-range smartphone segment. We are talking about the category of devices where the Galaxy A series comes out.

Meanwhile, it accounts for 70% of Samsung’s total sales.

In the first quarter of 2023, the company sold 60 million smartphones, down 20% from the previous year. Interestingly, the profit of the Mobile Experience division increased by 3.1% thanks to the successful launch of the flagship Galaxy S23 series.

At the same time, shipments are expected to decline further in the second quarter as the impact of new flagship models fades.
