The use of psychotropic substances can also lead to the development of the clitoris, as stated by the expert.
Doctors do not fully understand the causes of this phenomenon, but it probably resembles the mechanism of priapism – a persistent erection in men, not associated with arousal, caused by impaired blood flow in the cavernous bodies.
Because the clitoris is a rare and poorly understood condition, there is no single recommended treatment. In some cases, you need to stop taking the drug that caused this condition. Sometimes, topical treatments such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, epinephrine, and cold compresses can be effective treatments, the gynecologist said.
