We’re not talking about replacing humans with robots – it’s a helpful tool. Police robots are needed at the airport to assist patrol officers, join cordons, alert citizens about incidents and emergencies.

The height of the robots is 1.7 meters, and the machines can push up 2.3 meters high special poles for 360-degree cameras. The robots are equipped with cameras, sensors, speakers, display, turn signals and a siren. They are able to patrol autonomously if necessary, and allow a police officer to communicate directly with citizens via a microphone.

According to Lim, two robots have become operational at Terminal 4 of Changi Airport. “The integration of robot technology improves the efficiency and capabilities of our officers, allowing them to perform their duties more efficiently,” said Lim.
