The American company Whisper Aero has developed a jet motor that is almost completely silent. They were focused on drones, self-propelled vehicles and eVTOL vehicles. The existing opportunity to introduce air transport into the life of cities, where the level of vehicle noise plays a very important role. The development raised $40,000,000 in investment and received several grants from the military department.

The secret of noiselessness lies in the design of the rotor, which replaces the rotating propeller. It is notable for a large number of blades, combined according to the appearance of significance. All elements of the rotor are made of durable and hard material. Rotating at high speeds, such a unit consumes enough thrust for flight. Due to the large number of blades, their frequency exceeds the human satiety threshold of 16 k.

The quietness and efficiency of the new motor has already been confirmed by tests – it was possible to achieve a successful efficiency of the rotor at 92%. Acoustic tests have shown that the noise of the engine with a rotor diameter of 15 is not audible at a distance of 60 meters. The distance was 30 meters, recorded in 34.5 days, which does not correspond to the size of the city.

The model of the engine, presented on the aviation market, is of great interest to the participants. In addition, the concept is the same, with the innovative double-sided Whisper Aero system. However, the company’s engineers are not interested in finding commercial objects, but in the further development of engines for them.
