The process of training AI systems requires large amounts of data, often with the help of workers who perform difficult-to-automate tasks such as tagging data or solving captchas.

These employees, who are often underpaid and have to complete tasks quickly, may be turning to artificial intelligence tools like ChatGPT to increase their earning potential. Researchers at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology conducted a study that employed workers to summarize medical research papers using Amazon Mechanical Turk. Their analysis showed that between 33% and 46% of employees use artificial intelligence models such as OpenAI ChatGPT.

However, using AI-generated data to train AI models can introduce additional errors and misinformation into systems, creating problems in obtaining and correcting correct outputs.
