In September, new rules for taxi aggregators in Russia may come into force. The bill approved in first reading contains new fines for carriers. This is reported by Izvestia with reference to experts.
For this violation, the fine for citizens will be from 1,000 to 3,000 rubles, for officials – from 20,000 to 30,000 rubles, for legal entities – from 100,000 to 200,000 rubles.
If during the year the aggregator again committed such an offense, a repeated fine for citizens will be from 3 thousand to 5 thousand rubles, for officials – from 30 thousand to 50 thousand rubles, for legal entities – from 200 thousand to 500 thousand rubles. .
Dmitry Matveev, CEO of My Car Rental, said that four out of five taxi drivers in Russia work without a license. He explained this by OSAGO’s high cost of transporting passengers and the frequent refusals of taxi drivers by insurance companies.
Since the beginning of 2023, carriers have increased taxi fares by 10-30%. Experts believe that the new fines will narrow the market: trips will be safer, but several times more expensive.
- The State Duma forced all taxi drivers and taxi companies to insure their passengers. The law will enter into force on September 1: the minimum amount of payment for an insured event will be 2 million rubles.
- Since 2013, a law on passenger insurance has been in force in Russia, but passenger taxis are not included in it. In this case, the victims can count on payment under the OSAGO law, amounting to up to 500 thousand rubles.
