Musk said SpaceX has made more than 1,000 design changes to the Starship since its first test launch in April, which unfortunately resulted in an explosion and didn’t even reach orbit, damaging the launch pad in the process.
Musk said SpaceX experts have redesigned its rocket launch processes, giving it a much better chance for its second upcoming test launch. He expressed confidence that the rocket has a 60% chance of reaching orbit, or at least reaching a significantly higher altitude than the previous prototype.
Musk added that success will depend on the separation of rocket stages.
