The broker “Aton” from July 3 introduces a restriction on the withdrawal of euros to accounts in Russian banks. The exception will be Raiffeisenbank, writes RBC-Investments with reference to Aton’s client mailing list dated June 26.
Last week, Raiffeisenbank announced that transfers in euros to accounts of other Russian banks, as well as to credit institutions in some “friendly” countries, will not be available from July 3. Transactions between accounts within the credit institution itself will not be affected by the changes.
The broker explains the changes by the restrictions of the counterparty bank.
Not only did Aton have correspondent relationships with Raiffeisenbank, but also with Newton Investments, BCS, ITInvest, Tsifra Broker and Finam. The last three have already announced a similar step in connection with the restriction of Raiffeisenbank.
The Austrian Raiffeisen Bank International announced in early May that it was suspending operations of correspondent banks in the Russian Federation, in addition to its Russian subsidiary.
