Since January 2023, the demand for active accounts on VKontakte, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram* has increased three to four times, and the number of offers has almost doubled. Moderators say they are blocking those accounts, but their number is still high, Kommersant writes.
According to Buy-accs, the cost of an account on the VKontakte social network ranges from 18 rubles to 249.3 thousand rubles, and on Telegram – from 18 kopecks. up to 390 thousand rubles. The annual turnover of the entire market from June 2022 to June 2023 was estimated at 4Cheat at the level of 10 billion rubles.
Trading platforms believe the trend is associated with Russians’ growing interest in online anonymity, but experts in the advertising market and popular social media audiences say the accounts are often used for political provocations and sending spam messages.
