Self Driving Group, a subsidiary of Yandex, has started testing self-driving cars in the Serbian capital Belgrade. TASS writes about this, citing a source. Testing of the first cars will take place in the New Belgrade area.
Self Driving Group was created in 2020 as a result of the reorganization of Yandex.Taxi. It is expected that after the restructuring of “Yandex” it will become an independent company.
Yandex opened its first office in Belgrade in the summer of 2022. It is designed for 700 people. This fall, the company plans to open a second office and expand the Serbian staff to 2,000 people.
In the summer, Yandex announced the start of tests of an unmanned taxi in Moscow’s Yasenevo. There is a driver in the cab who oversees safety on the route.
