The National Union for the Protection of Consumer Rights (NSZPP) proposed to set a maximum premium on the cost of Russian cars. For car dealers, it should not exceed 15%, Izvestia learned.
Since the beginning of 2023, the average price of a car has increased by 11% and 20% since 2022, according to Avtostat data. The dynamics arose due to artificial price inflation by car dealers, the union statement says.
The organization believes that the maximum prices for Russian cars will lower their final cost, which is also affected by high car loan rates, misleading advertising and taxed services.
- In June, AvtoVAZ began to check three dealers in Moscow for the overpricing of Lada Vesta NG cars. The company has suspended the shipment of new car models to these centers. Starting prices for Lada Vesta NG from various dealers amounted to 2.1 million rubles. At the same time, AvtoVAZ in May set the recommended cost of a car in the range from 1.24 million to 1.69 million rubles.
