The court fined Start online cinema in the amount of 3.7 million rubles for showing LGBT content without the required age mark. This was reported by TASS with reference to the decision of the Moscow Cheryomushkinsky Court.
At the end of May it was learned that a protocol was put into service for a possible LGBT demonstration. Then the company said that we are talking about the picture “Perfect Strangers.”
“Acknowledge Start.ru LLC guilty of committing an administrative offense under Part 2 of Art. 6.21.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (dissemination among minors via the Internet of information proving non-traditional sexual relations) and impose a fine of 3.7 million rubles on him, ”says the resolution.
The online cinema clarified to RB.RU that they are considering the possibility of appealing the decision. As noted in the press service, today in Russian legislation and regulations “the criteria for marking content by age are not fully formulated.” The company also pointed out the lack of a clear definition of the concept of “LGBT demonstration”.
“This is an Italian film that has been licensed by our service. The mark, originally fixed on the rental certificate – 16+, issued by the Ministry of Culture, was changed on the platform, the project has long been available on Stsrt under the sign 18+, ”the company explained.
