VKontakte CEO Marina Krasnova and VK Vice President of Technology and Development, VKontakte CTO Alexander Tobol, decided to leave the company and pursue their own project, VK said.
From July 3, the social network will be managed by a collegiate body – a management team, which will include representatives of the top management of VK and representatives of the management of VKontakte.
The new team will be responsible for operational processes, making strategic decisions and developing new areas of VKontakte.
“The updated format for managing the social network reflects how most of the key decisions of VKontakte are made. This approach has proven to be effective and will allow the social network to continue to increase its audience, create and improve services for users,” VK CEO Vladimir Kiriyenko commented on the changes, quoted in the message.
- Marina Krasnova has been working at VK since 2012. She went from product manager to deputy director of the Odnoklassniki social network. In 2019, she joined the VKontakte team as a product manager. Since 2021, she leads the social network as CEO.
- Alejandro Tobol joined VK in 2012 and worked his way up from developer to head of development of the Odnoklassniki video and feed platform. He became the technical director of VKontakte in November 2019, and at the end of 2022 he became VK’s vice president of technologies and development.
