Isaikin stressed that nonspecific pain is often associated with “changes in musculoskeletal formations, not muscles.” As a rule, these are small joints of the spine. “For example, pain in the interscapular region may be related to changes in the joints where the ribs attach to the vertebrae,” explained the expert.
The doctor also said that it is difficult and not necessary to determine the cause of the pain, as they are similar in clinical picture and are treated in the same way. For relief, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are used, as well as massage and manual therapy. Therefore, it is pointless to intensely and deliberately “pump” the back muscles – the muscular corset will not save you from pain in the end.
