The Threads app topped the Russian and American app store the first day after launch. It was downloaded more than 30 million times in one day. In Russia, Threads only works with a VPN.
According to analytics company data.ai, Threads became the most downloaded free app on the Russian App Store on July 6. The threads also topped the US App Store.
Threads creator Mark Zuckerberg announced two hours after launch that the app had 2 million downloads. A few hours later, the number of downloads reached 30 million, Zuckerberg said.
Threads is almost a complete analogue of the social network Twitter owned by Elon Musk. The app has a recommendations feed, where you can post your posts and share others.
