At the beginning of 2020, 40 thousand cleaning companies worked in Russia, over the next year and a half their number decreased to 35.8 thousand. First, the market contracted under the influence of the Covid-19 pandemic, then due to the departure of Western Businesses and the economic crisis. However, this year the number of cleaning companies began to grow.
In June 2023, the number of cleaning companies in Russia grew 5% year-on-year to 37.7 thousand, Kommersant learned.
Experts expect the trend to strengthen: new tenants appear, Russians get used to new economic conditions. However, the demand for third-party cleaning services may be constrained by the desire of business owners to create their own cleaning services to save money.
- In May, Sberbank patented the “smart cleaning” system, which makes it possible to optimize the cleaning process. The decision to grant a patent was made on October 28, 2022. The smart cleaning system collects data using cameras and generates an updated pollution map using machine learning technology.
