In Russia, only 10% of citizens were interested in investing in NFTs in detail, another 48% had heard about it. Most perceive technology positively, 6% negatively. This is stated in the Motive agency & production study, conducted using the Anketolog.ru online panel, the results of which were reviewed by RB.RU.

Almost 50% of Russians would like to invest in NFTs: study

77% of survey participants consider NFT to be a promising technology that will be widely used in the future. Top 10 areas where technology will be useful, according to respondents:

  • business and finance – noted by 37% of respondents;
  • games – 34%;
  • design – 34%;
  • banking services – 34%;
  • IT – 30%;
  • culture and art – 25%;
  • analytical activity – 23%;
  • marketing – 21%;
  • investments – 21%;
  • media and entertainment – 20%.

However, only 3% of respondents bought NFTs, the majority of them are Russians with incomes above 100 thousand rubles – 6%. Another 27% want to buy a unique token to own some kind of digital object. The most interested in this are young people from 18 to 45 years old – 31%, as well as respondents with incomes above 70 thousand rubles – 33%.

However, 53% of Russians do not plan to buy NFT, and 17% are not fully aware of what it is. According to 16% of survey participants, NFT is artificially inflated hype that will soon be stopped, and 15% believe the technology is being used for speculation.

The study also notes that 58% of respondents will have a greater interest in NFT if this technology is upheld in terms of laws and taxes.

  • By 2030, according to Morgan Stanley analysts, the size of the NFT market may reach $240 billion. At the same time, around 8% of the NFT market ($56 billion) will be represented by luxury brand tokens.
  • In February, MediaChain Ecosystem named the top 7 NFT projects for investment in 2023. Experts also warned that this market is highly risky and prone to volatility, so before investing, one should carefully study each project and analyze its earnings and potential risks.
